Friends,
I need your personal help. Each one of you are from a different regions in the US. If you are willing, please forward this message to all your friends in your city/area that may be eligible to vote.
I am running for USA Cycling Athlete Trustee position on the USCF Board of Trustees. Athletes can vote until Monday the 12th of October by logging into their account on the USA Cycling website. Only certain athletes are eligible to vote (I don't know why, yet) and you will see a link when you log into "My USA Cycling" if you can vote.
Here is my statement and why I hope you will trust me to represent you and your cycling family:
"The USCF Board of Trustees is a vital part of the political structure of USA Cycling. I am asking for your vote to make me an athlete representative to the Board of Trustees.
Although relatively new to bicycle racing, in a short period of time I have grown deeply involved in several aspects of the sport. As an athlete, I represented the USA at the 2009 Pan American Championships, bringing home four medals in track events. As a coach, I am dedicated to growing the sport at a grassroots level by overseeing the Boulder-based Flatiron Flyers Junior Cycling Project, which I founded two years ago. As an enthusiast, I mentor and support athletes at all levels and specialties of the sport: cyclocross, road, mountain biking, BMX, track, masters, juniors, and elites. I embrace all aspects of cycling and want to represent the broad range of athletes that comprise USA Cycling.
I love this sport and want to take on a more active role in helping it grow in a healthy manner that builds more champions. As an athlete trustee, I would seek to enhance the communication between athletes and their governing body. I would act as a conduit for the voice of athletes by actively engaging in the political process. And I would strive to communicate the goals and actions of USA Cycling to ensure that the member athletes stay informed."
These are the athletes that are eligible to vote:
1) holds a current USA Cycling domestic road and track license or a current USA Cycling International license (not USPRO); 2) has represented the United States in an Olympic Cames, Pan American Games, or World Championships in the last ten years; or 3) has finished in the top half of an Elite National Championships in the last two years.
If you aren't sure, log-in to USAC and check out "My USA Cycling". If you are eligible, you will see the link in your account.
