There is now a message board forum available to discuss anything related to the velodrome. Go to http://www.thevelodrome.com/ and click on the VeloForum link on the top left corner of the homepage. Register and post away!
This whole project idea started in September when Coppi1's wife entered a men's Cat 3 road race and not just won, But did it on her cyclocross bike with 28c training tires. This on her 5 year old "pit bike." Keep in mind, this is a beautiful, feminine woman, not some brawny scary chic. Guys were pissed. Some pretended they didn't know she was in their category, blah, blah, blah. So, from that, we all decided in 2010, we'd not race the fancy bikes, and ride either old bikes from a few seasons back or ride bikes most racers would consider "entry level."
I think this will be a fun season. Our shop manager is going to race on a 105 equipped LOOK frame from 2001 on our 2002 Ksyrium SLs with over 48,000 miles on them. He's a Cat 2, so that rig will see some serious action as well.
It's about riding and racing, not about who can bring the fanciest rig to the start line. _________________ digital camera memory cards
