From Zero Reset
Well, I did it
Fri Oct 05, 2007 5:37 pm

[  Mood: Sleepy ]
[ Working Currently: Working  ] I'm back at work today, but yesterday I competed in the US Elite Track Cycling Championships.

I dropped 9 seconds off my previous best time set only a few weeks ago.

I was still, by far, the slowest competitor in the race, but it was a great experience,
and hopefully a sign that I have more improvements ahead of me.

It was great, if only for a day, to be "an athlete".

My 3K split was my second best (pre injury) 3K time, and only 4 seconds off my best.

Once again I ran a lousy (wide/high) line.
People were telling me they're going to start calling me "red line"
and NOT because I race hard Embarassed

As I was clicking out laps splits that were a full second faster than I've gone all year,
I started to feel like I'd taken a big step towards achieving my goals.

I'm now done racing for the year, and looking forward to starting the training cycle all over again to see where I can get to next year.

Hope your training and racing is paying off too.
