Still at it
Sat Mar 15, 2008 3:45 pm [Mood: Hypnotized ] [Currently: Working at home (on the weekend no less) ]
I've been feeling guilty about not posting for awhile, so I thought I'd get caught up.
I've been training continuously since Nats, and the new race season has begun.
I recently celebrated my "second anniversary" of the crash and reconstructive surgery.
The hip still continues to get better (allow more range of motion), and I'm slowly becoming "aerodynamic" again.
I recently purchased a used BT frame so that I can get into a full pursuit position
(albeit with what looks like two feet of seatpost showing - I'll get a picture posted soon).
I've done two 4Ks (one in February, one in March) and they were both 5:55s,
six seconds off my PR at Nats last year, but I'm taking it as a good sign this early in the season,
especially since I finshed both races with something left over).
I've started to entertain thoughts of mass start racing again,
but then I hear of other's crashes and realize I'm having enough fun with just the time trialing.
Masters Nats is only at the other end of the state this year, so I'm really looking forward to going (finally). My first Nats was supposed to be in Colorado two years ago, but it was at the beginning of that season that I broke my hip. I would have gone last year to T-Town, but it seemed like alot of money for one race that wasn't going to be my best time, maybe not even for the year.
My training times/speeds have been good the last few weeks.
