 Save $25 on your 100K scratch race entry fees or $10 on you 25K Messenger race entry fees by pre registering on-line for Encino's next race, the $10,000 Purse 100K Scratch Race at Encino Velodrome December 9th, 2007
The Encino Velo Cycling Club Winter Challenge, sponsored by Sugino, will take place December 9th, 2007 at the Encino Velodrome and will feature a $10,000 cash purse Pro/1/2 100 km scratch race, a 25km messenger race, a bicycle swap meet and live music all day long.
Scratch race riders must be a Pro, 1 or 2 category track license holders. Anyone 2 laps down will be deemed out of contention and will be pulled. Every 50 laps, the field will be reduced by five riders. If riders have been pulled out of contention or have crashed out, only the number of riders will be pulled to make the peloton the correct number of riders as proportionate i.e., at 350 laps, there should be 45 riders remaining, at 300 laps, 40 riders, etc. For a mechanical or a crash, you will get 5 free laps. A spare bike would probably be in order. A maximum of five riders per team, pro or amateur, will be allowed. There will not be any A and B teams allowed. The 50 racers who will start the final will be determined from qualification races held earlier the same day.

Track opens at 7:00 a.m.
Race Day Registration will be available for the 100k Scratch Race from 7:30 to 8:30 AM
Race Day Registration will be available for the 25k Messenger Race from 7:30 to 10:45 a.m.
Rider Meeting at 8:45 a.m.
1st Scratch qualifying race starts at 9:00 a.m.
100 Lap / 25 km Messenger Race starts at 11:00 a.m.
400 Lap / 100 km Scratch Race Final starts at 1:00 PM
