Can probably lay claim to be the site longest occupied by a velodrome of any in the World. Local sources suggest that there has been a track of some kind here since 1885.-tci
During 2006 & 2007 a complete reconstruction of the velodrome has been taking place with it being transformed from an exposed 333m bowl into a 250m oval complete with track shelters.-tci
